Red cabbage indicator
Yes, it is possible to make a pH indicator. We conducted an experiment making a pH indicator out of red cabbage. Materials
--> Red Cabbage
--> Distilled Water
--> Hot Plate
--> 2 800mL Beakers
--> 8 150mL Beakers
--> Ammonia
--> White Vinegar
--> Lemon Juice
--> Alka Seltzer
--> Washing Soda
--> Antacid Tablets
--> Baking Soda
--> Lye
--> Baking Soda
Procedure
Step 1
Place 800mL beaker of water on hot plate until it comes to a boil. Break up cabbage and place in second 800mL beaker and pour the boiling water pver the cabbage and let sit for 10 minutes.
Step 2
Label each 150mL beakers with the solution that it will occupy
Step 3
Place the indicator into every beaker.
Step 4
Put each solution into its respected beaker and watch each them change colors.
